Directions to Camp

Camp Timberline Location
Camp Timberline is 75 miles northwest of Denver and 9 miles south of Estes Park off Hwy 7 on Longs Peak Road [look for mile marker "9" on the west side of Hwy. 7] and come up Longs Peak Road to Camp Timberline. The camp’s 40 acres are surrounded by snow capped mountains, forests, and more than 600 miles of hiking trails in Rocky Mountain National Park. Lakes, ponds, glaciers, rivers, 14,000-foot peaks, and abundant wildlife provide a unique setting for camp. A detailed map will be sent to all enrolled camp families in the spring.

Sleeping Arrangements
All campers stay in warmly decorated mountain cabins in Longs Peak and Meeker Peak Lodges. Each cabin is fully equipped with electricity, central heat, individual toilets, sinks, showers, pine bunks and shelves. The lodges are located in close proximity to the dining hall and sports facilities. Cabins sleep 14 very comfortably, which usually includes 11 campers and 3 counselors and sometimes 12 campers and 2 counselors.

Cabin Requests

Each camper may request one roommate; however, the two campers' birth dates need to be with in 12 months of each other. This request will also need to be made in writing (letter/email) by both campers. (i.e., John writes and request Sam, and Sam writes and request John). We are very hopeful to honor each request made.

Multiple Session Campers
Through the years many campers have chosen to stay for multiple sessions. Camp programs and parties are different every other session. Campers who do stay with us for additional sessions will be required to pay an additional $35.00 for lunch, laundry, GoCarts or an approved movie, and breakfast in between sessions.

Medical Emergencies
Every session Camp Timberline has a full time registered nurse on property. The camp doctor and a modern, full service medical center are located in Estes Park just 10 minutes away. All staff are certified in standard First Aid, CPR, and some have Wilderness First Aid certification.

Camper medication
We take meticulous care when dispensing your child’s medicine. Please help us by carefully preparing it in the following way:
- Make sure your camper’s full name is on the medication.
- Place all medicine in its original container in a zip lock style plastic bag. Unless medication is in its original container with prescription label, it will not be given.
- Enclose complete written instructions.
- Give it personally to the Camp Timberline nurse when you check in.

Communication with Your Camper While at Camp
Campers love to get mail! It is delivered to and picked up from camp Monday-Saturday. You may also E-mail your child up to 3 times each session [Sorry, but they can't E-mail you back though]. click here to send email. Tip: Send mail a few days even before your camper’s session begins so they will receive it during their session. Telephone usage is limited to emergencies only. Please feel free to call the camp director if you need to discuss something relating to your camper. Due to the number of campers and the interruption of CT activities, campers are not allowed to use the phone during their session at camp.

Parental Visits During Camp
In order for your child to have the full experience of camp, we do not allow parents or other family members to visit during your camper’s session. If your child is staying for multiple sessions, you may come and pick up your camper during the session break.

Camp Food

One of the highlights of a week at Camp Timberline is the food prepared by our head chef. We provide three nutritionally balanced meals each day - whether it is presented buffet style, family style or cookout style. Note: Campers may not receive any food via mail while at camp to keep critters out of the cabins!! We will work with any camper who may be allergic to certain foods.

Weather
We enjoy warm, sunny 80° days and crisp 50° nights!
